Centrifuges proved an effective way to remove fine solids from a liquid solution. Any material which would normally settle due to time and gravity can be separated at a highly accelerated rate using a centrifuge. A centrifuge can also be used to remove tramp oils, sometimes with almost 99% efficiency.
